ASTON, PA – The Cavaliers nearly doubled their season-high in shots but a fourth quarter goal proved to be too much to overcome, as the Cabrini field hockey team suffered a 2-1 loss today at Neumann.
With the loss, the Cavaliers fall to 1-1 in the Atlantic East Conference and 2-10 overall.
The Blue and White opened the scoring in the 29th minute, as freshman
Olivia Sims pushed in a rebound for her third goal of the season.
Despite outshooting the Knights 18-4 in the first half, including 11-0 in the first half, the Blue and White held just a slim 1-0 lead at the half.
Neumann evened the score in the 41st minute on a Rachel Koerner. Koerner extended her mark on the game early in the fourth quarter, recording the eventual game-winning goal in the 49th minute.
The Blue and White continued to press for the game-tying goal, recording nine shots and three penalty corners in the final 11 minutes of action, but to no avail
Cabrini finished the day with 37 shots, its most since recording 36 in a 6-2 win over Neumann on Sept. 24, 2016, to just 17 for the home squad. The Cavaliers also forced 15 penalty corners to seven for Neumann.

Senior goaltender
Noelia Ramirez posted 10 saves in the loss.
Bri Lagroteria and Sam Picker recorded four shots each for Neumann (4-10, 1-1 Atlantic East), while goaltender Lizzie Yu tallied 19 saves.
The Cavaliers will return to action on Tuesday, when it welcomes Alvernia University (6-7) to Edith Robb Dixon Field. Game time is set for 4pm.
