RADNOR, PA – The Cabrini volleyball team celebrated its Senior Night with a hard-fought 3-1 victory over Marywood tonight at Nerney Field House.
The Cavaliers extended their conference win streak to 68 matches and improved to 12-10 overall and 3-0 in the Atlantic East Conference.
Prior to tonight's match, the Cavaliers made some presentations to a few of its student-athletes.
Sophomore
Amelia Ballard was recognized after becoming the fifth player in program history to record 1,000 career assists.
Cabrini then honored its three seniors, Kristen Bettermann, Olivia Blankenbiller and
Katrina Shelly.
Bettermann and Blankenbiller ended their playing careers in 2017 but have remained active members of the program.
Shelly, who earned All-Atlantic East Conference Second Team honors in 2018, has amassed 604 kills, 339 digs and 75 total blocks in the Blue and White.
The senior played a major roll in tonight's 23-25, 25-23, 25-20, 25-14 victory, pairing 18 kills, five digs and three total blocks.
Junior
Steph Judkins also recorded a double-double with a match-high 21 kills to go with 10 digs.
Ballard and freshman
Melanie Cotes-Rivera also fell just shy of posting double-doubles. The sophomore paired 25 assists and eight digs, while Cotes-Rivera added 21 dimes and nine digs.
Sophomore
Hannah Dalton anchored the Blue and White's defensive effort with a season-high seven total blocks and 10 kills, while classmate
Gina Custer added a match-high 20 digs.
Senior Peri Sheerin led the Pacers (9-17, 1-3 Atlantic East) with 14 kills, while sophomore Burgos added 34 assists and nine digs.
The Cavaliers will hit the road for its final four regular season matches, beginning with Saturday's showdown at Marymount (19-10, 5-0 Atlantic East). The rematch of the 2018 Atlantic East championship will begin at 12pm in Arlington, VA.
