RADNOR, PA – The Cabrini field hockey team closed its regular season tonight, falling to Gwynedd Mercy 3-0 at Edith Robb Dixon Field. The loss closes the Blue and White's regular season with a 2-15 mark, including 1-4 in the Atlantic East Conference.
Despite tonight's loss, the Cavaliers will continue their season on Saturday, as they host one of the league's two opening round games in the Atlantic East Tournament.
The number four seed Cabrini will host fifth seeded Immaculata on Saturday at a time to be determined.
Prior to tonight's game, Cabrini honored its seven seniors,
Trisha Billig,
Annsley Dicton,
Holly Gremmel,
Katie Heck,
Brittney Morello,
Noelia Ramirez and
Lauren Vanstone, as they made their final regular season home appearance.
The group has led the Cavaliers to 26 wins, including conference victories, and recorded 31 points on 13 goals and five assists with 145 saves.
The Cabrini defense was up to the task in the tonight's first half. Despite being outshot 12-3 and fighting off six penalty corner the Cavaliers kept the high-powered Griffins off the score board.
The visitors broke through in the third quarter, scoring three goals on just six shots in the frame.
The Blue and White looked to mount a late comeback, but could not find its offense, recording just two second half shot attempts.
The Griffins (9-9, 3-2 Atlantic East) built a 20-5 advantage in shots and forced 12 penalty corners to just five for the Cavaliers.

Maura Tumelty led the Blue and White with two shots, while Billig, sophomore
Kaitlyn Martin and freshman
Olivia Sims added one shot each. Ramirez tallied four saves in the loss.
