ANNVILLE, PA – The Cabrini volleyball team evened its record at 8-8 with a pair of wins today at Lebanon Valley College. The Cavaliers scored a 3-0 win over the host Dutchmen before topping Bethany College 3-1.
Senior
Katrina Shelly led the Blue and White in its 26-24, 27-25, 25-16 win over Lebanon Valley. The senior posted 18 kills, just one shy of her season high.
Junior
Steph Judkins notched a double-double, pairing 13 kills and 13 digs. Sophomore
Amelia Ballard narrowly missed the mark with 23 assists and nine digs.
Sophomore
Gina Custer earned match-high honors with 18 digs, while freshman
Melanie Cotes-Rivera added 11 assists.
Sophomore
Hannah Dalton chipped in with five kills, five digs, three service aces and five block assists, two more than classmate
Jordan Shemonski and junior
Lauren Coscia.
The Cavaliers continued their solid play in the nightcap, scoring a 25-23, 13-25, 26-24, 25-20 victory over Bethany.
The Blue and White trio of Dalton, Judkins and Shelly combined for 24 kills, while Judkins added 10 digs. Cotes-Rivera added a double-dip with 14 assists and 10 digs, while Custer led Cabrini with 17 digs.
Sophomore
Lexi Conte added nine assists and three of Cabrini's eight service aces.
The Blue and White also recorded eight solo blocks, its most since recording eight in a victory over Keystone College on Oct. 30, 2013. Shelly led the way with four, while Coscia added a pair.
The Cavaliers will turn their attention to Atlantic East Conference play this week, as they open league play on Wednesday with a visit from Immaculata (4-10, 0-1 Atlantic East). First serve is set for 7pm at Nerney Field House.
