Last Meeting: Eastern 5, Cabrini 1, Eastern 7, Cabrini 4 (3/23/2016, St. Davids, PA)
The Blue and White will face the Eagles for the first time since the 2016 season, when Eastern earned a sweep over the Cavs.Â
After two scoreless innings in the opener, the Eagles broke the scoring open with a big four run third inning. Eastern scored one more time in the fifth inning.Â
Down 5-0, the Cavaliers found some life as a pair of hits and a sacrifice fly gave Cabrini its first run.
Kaitlyn Cooper opened the sixth inning with a double and advanced to third base on a ground out. Â Lindsay Savar's fly ball to left field was deep enough to score Cooper the following at bat.Â
The Cavaliers' bats were silent the rest of the way, as Eastern captured game one.
Cabrini scored early in game two. In the top of the first inning, Christine Ferraro reached on an infield error and later scored on
Marissa Alpaugh's single. Eastern answered, however, with a four run second inning on one hit, three walks and three errors to take the lead.Â
The Blue and White tied the score in the third inning, but the Eagles finished strong to take the win, notching runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings.
Cabrini Last Time Out: Wartburg 5, Cabrini 0 (3/5/2019, Clermont, FL)
The Knights plated a single run in the first and three in the second before scoring a solo run in the fourth.
Meanwhile, the Cavaliers struggled to find their offense, notching only four singles on the day.
Despite its lack of base hits, the Blue and White offense threatened to score several times, stranding nine runners on the base paths. Cavaliers were left on base in each of the seven frames, including two in both the first and third innings.
SophomoresÂ
Aysiah Cintron andÂ
Casey Scheuren joined freshmenÂ
Allison Martin andÂ
Kaitlyn Martinwith base hits, while Scheuren suffered the loss in the pitcher's circle. The sophomore hurler surrendered four earned runs on eight hits in four innings.
Eastern Last Time Out: Eastern 6, Concordia 5 (3/7/2019, Kissimmee, FL)
Concordia jumped out to a 2-0 lead with a pair of base hits in the game's opening frame. Eastern responded, however, after a pair of singles and an error loaded the bases for Rebecca Howard. Howard delivered a two-run single to even things at 2-2, while Sam Alberston gave the Eagles the lead with an ensuing RBI single.Â
Another Eagles run in the third inning, followed by two runs in the fourth gave Eastern the lead for good as they would limit Concordia to just two more runs and hang on for the 6-5 final.Â
