RADNOR, PA – The Cabrini field hockey team faced a tough task, as it looked to get back in the win column, as No. 3 TCNJ paid a visit to Edith Robb Dixon Field.
The Blue and White could not overcome the nation's fifth ranked scoring offense, as the Cavaliers suffered an 8-0 loss.
The Lions wasted little time jumping on the score board, as junior Tori Tiefenthaler found freshman Jess Hatch on a set penalty corner play just 74 seconds after the opening whistle.
TCNJ doubled its lead just over a minute later, when senior Cayla Andrews' pass sprung Tiefenthaler for the second goal of the night.
The visitors extended their lead in the first minute of the second quarter, as Hatch's penalty corner service led to an outside blast from senior Tori Hannah.
Despite being outshot 10-1 in the first half and forcing just one penalty corner to five for TCNJ, the Cavaliers kept the Lions within stick's reach at the break.
The Blue and White could not stem the tide of the Lions' offense, as Cabrini failed to record a shot through the third and fourth quarters. TCNJ took advantage, scoring five second half goals on 13 shots and nine penalty corners.
Senior goaltender
Noelia Ramirez recorded seven saves for Cabrini (1-7).
Andrews finished with two goals and an assist, one of four Lions (7-0) with at least three points on the night.
The Cavaliers will hit the road on Saturday, as they make the trip across the Ben Franklin Bridge to face Stockton (7-0). Game time is set for 1pm in Galloway, NJ.
