Game Recap: Field Hockey |

Late Spurt Downs Field Hockey vs. Gettysburg

RADNOR, PA – The Cabrini and Gettysburg field hockey teams played an exciting game for 40 minutes, but the Bullets found their rhythm in the game's final minutes and pulled away from the Cavaliers to earn a 7-1 victory.

The Blue and White's loss dropped the club to 1-3 on the season, while Gettysburg evened its record at 2-2.

Cabrini struck first midway through the second quarter, as sophomore Allison Martin's penalty corner service found freshman Olivia Sims, who blasted the ball into the cage.

The Bullets evened the score five minutes later. The score remained tied at 1-1 until the final minutes of the third, when Gettysburg began to pull away.

Gettysburg grabbed a lead with just over a minute left in the third before netting three goals in the opening four minutes of the fourth.

The Cavaliers were outshot 26-5 on the day, with all five of Cabrini's shots coming before the halftime break. The Blue and White also managed just two penalty corners, both coming in the second quarter, to 16 for the visitors.

Sims recorded two of Cabrini's five shots, with three other players sharing the remainder. Senior goaltender Noelia Ramirez notched six saves in the loss.

Sophomore Henna Fraiman paired a goal and an assist for the Bullets, while senior goaltender Jillian Caputo tallied three saves.

The Cavaliers face a tough task as it looks to return to the win column, as they will visit No. 3 Rowan (3-0) on Wednesday. The opening whistle is slated for 7pm in Glassboro, NJ.
