GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA – The Cabrini cross country teams competed in a rare dual meet today, falling at Gwynedd Mercy. The men suffered a 25-30 defeat, while the women lost 21-34.
Freshman
Zach Donlen led the Blue and White, completing the 5K course in 17:49 to finish second. Junior
Tony Pietrewicz added a second place finish, posting a time of 18:04.
Freshman
Brendan Ainscoe's time of 20:02 was good for sixth place. Classmates
Tyler Carroll,
Sam Debany and
Griffin Reichow added ninth, 10
th and 11
th place finishes, respectively, with times of 22:06, 25:13 and 28:13.
On the women's side, sophomore
Sam Frederick scored a third place finish, posting a time of 23:32.
Senior
Morgan Fazzini crossed the finish line in 30:03, 10 seconds faster than junior
Chloe Griffiths, as the duo placed sixth and seventh.
Freshman
Holly Smith's time of 30:29 was good for eight, while fellow rookie
Adri Pietrewicz added a 10
th place finish in 32:25.
The Blue and White will return to large scale competition next weekend, as they compete at the NCAA Div. III Mideast Regional Championships in Logan Township, NJ.
