RADNOR, Pa. – Cabrini sophomore midfielder Adrianna Jones scored two goals in the span of less than two minutes in the fourth quarter, sending the second-seeded Cavaliers (13-4) into the Atlantic East Championships with a 3-1 win over third-seeded Marywood (6-12) Wednesday night.
Cabrini will play either Saint Mary's of Maryland or Immaculata on Saturday at a time and place to be determined.
Jones broke open a 1-1 tie with goals at 46:47 and 48:24, both coming off of saves. Marywood had tied the game at the end of the third quarter as sophomore forward Lauren Youngken scored on a corner, inserted by sophomore back Corrin Hasty.
The lone goal in the first half came off the stick of junior midfielder Caroline Gallagher, who drove from midfield with 2:25 left in the second quarter to score her 21st goal of the season.
Between the scoring, both goalkeepers played outstanding. Cabrini sophomore goalkeeper Courtney Keith had eight saves, while Marywood junior Rachel Yohn had a game-high 16 saves.
Cabrini is making its second straight appearance in the AEC title game, defeating Saint Mary's last season in overtime.
