RADNOR, PA – The Cabrini men's lacrosse team saw its seven game win streak come to an end tonight, as the No. 14 Cavaliers fell to No. 6 York 9-6 at Edith Robb Dixon Field.
The game shaped up to be a defensive battle, as the score sheet remained clean until the 8:26 mark of the second quarter, when York's Ben Mayer netted the first of his three goals.

Tommy Vaughan answered 38 seconds later to even the score. York's Dylan Wolf put the Spartans ahead at the break with an unassisted tally with 3:12 left in the second.

Zack Kaut in transition to even the score at the 12:19 mark. Just 43 seconds later, the Blue and White pulled ahead, as Vaughan scooped a ground ball and found the back of the net.
Cabrini enjoyed its lead for four minutes before the Spartans answered with back to back markers of their own, as junior Will Harnick and senior Eric Ranck scored in a span of 33 seconds.

Evan Trizonis collected the ground balls and made his way straight to the net to tie the score at 4-4 with 6:47 left in the third.
The Cavaliers then took advantage of a York penalty, the first flag of the evening, as Vanaman found sophomore
Bryan Rafferty in the final seconds of the extra man opportunity putting Cabrini with just under five minutes to play.
York's Noah Bruno's goal at the 3:48 mark to tie the score for the fifth time, but Vanaman's marker with 2:03 left in the third sent the Cavaliers into the fourth quarter with a 6-5 advantage.
The Spartans opened the fourth with a pair of Ben Mayer goals, reclaiming a 7-6 lead with 11:50 to play. The visitors then added a man-up goal less than a minute later.
Cabrini was never able to regain its collective footing, as it was outshot 13-3 in the decisive 15 minute period and outscored 4-0. The Cavaliers also committed six of its 23 turnovers and won just one of five faceoffs in the period, while the Spartans collected 12 ground balls to just four for the Blue and white.
Vaughan led the Blue and White attack with two goals on just two shots, while Vanaman tallied three points, including a pair of assists.
Huey went 9-19 at the faceoff spot and earned game-high honors with six ground balls, while Kaut collected three.

Matt Nestler paired 14 saves and a pair of ground balls.
Mayer and Ranck led the Spartans with four points each, while Wolf notched a pair of goals. Senior goaltender Jack Michael recorded 12 saves to earn the victory.
The Cavaliers will return to Atlantic East Conference action on Wednesday, when they play host to Marywood University. The opening faceoff is scheduled for 4pm.
