GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA – The Cabrini cross country teams opened their 2022 seasons with some impressive performances at the season-opening Griffins Open. The men's team scored a third place finish, while the women did not qualify for a team score.
Three Cavaliers finished among the top 12 finishers in the men's 5K, led by sophomore
Zach Donlen, whose 19:12.3 was goof for seventh place in the field of 30 runners.
Senior
Tony Pietrewicz and freshman
Dave Kenney earned 11
th and 12
th place finishes, posting times of 19:35.0 and 20:01.6, respectively.
Sophomore
Brendan Ainscoe's time of 21:19.1 was good for 17
th, while classmate
Sam Debany crossed the finish line in 27:01.1 to finish 29
th.
Junior
Sam Frederick led the Blue and White women, posting a time of 26:35.3 to finish 10
th. Sophomore
Holly Smith opened her sophomore season with an 18
th place finish with a time of 32:24.4, while classmate
Adri Pietrewicz recorded a time of 40:49.5 to finish 23
rd.
The Cavaliers will return to action on Sept. 10, when they head to the Belmont Plateau to compete in the Philly Metro Invitational.
