GALLOWAY, N.J. – Homestanding Stockton went 2-for-2 on penalty strokes as the Ospreys (3-2) handed Cabrini (6-1) its first loss of the season by a 3-2 count on Thursday night.
Alyssa Greiner and Makenna Lehenaff both scored on strokes as the two teams combined for only 12 shots on the night.
Cabrini did take a 1-0 lead at 16:57 as junior midfielder Caroline Gallagher scored on a backhand to give the Cavs a 1-0 lead. Following Greiner's PS, Stockton took a 2-1 lead into intermission when Jenna Florito scored on a tap in with just 1:36 until halftime.
Cabrini tied the game just 31 seconds into the second half as Gallagher scored her second goal of the game on a solo breakaway.
The final penalty stroke came at 46:45 for the Ospreys, who had a 7-5 lead on shots.
In goal, sophomore Courtney Keith made three saves.
The Cavs are off till next Wednesday, when they host Swarthmore.
