Field Hockey darts to 7-1 start with win over Swarthmore

RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini University field hockey continued its record start, as the Cavaliers (7-1) defeated Swarthmore (4-2) 3-1 on Wednesday afternoon.

Cabrini saw three different players score in the contest, with two of the goals coming in the second quarter.

The Cavs got on the board as sophomore midfielder Adrianna Jones scored on a deflection via a pass from freshman forward Maggie Cella at 17:02. Cella would factor in on the second goal, as she assisted on a goal from freshman forward Krista Geibler at 26:49 for a 2-0 lead.

Cabrini's third goal came at 50:16 as Jones and freshman forward Grace Caspar assisted on a goal from junior midfielder Daly Ewing.

Swarthmore's lone goal came with 24 seconds left in the game on a penalty stroke from senior midfielder Callie Cho.

In a game that featured 29 combined penalty corners, sophomore goalkeeper Courtney Keith made 13 saves for Cabrini. Swarthmore got four saves from freshman goalkeeper Cassandra Conklin.
