MADISON, NJ – The Cabrini field hockey team continued its hot play to start the 2022 season, as the Cavaliers scored a 5-0 victory over Lycoming tonight at the Drew University Fall Festival.
Junior
Caroline Gallagher led the Blue and White (2-0) with a career high four goals on nine shots. Senior
Olivia Sims also marked the scoring column, while freshman
Maggie Cella added an assist.
Gallagher opened the scoring in the seventh minute, deposing the rebound from her own shot into the Lycoming cage. The score remained 1-0 until the 24

Sims extended the lead in the 38
th minute, as Cella's pass from the left side found Sims, who flipped the ball into the top right corner. Gallagher completed her hat trick five minutes later, firing a far post shot to give the Blue and White a 4-0 lead after three quarters. Gallagher completed the scoring in the 52
nd minute, tipping a loose ball.
The Cavaliers dominated tonight's action, outshooting Lycoming 23-1 and recording 19 penalty corners to none for the Warriors. Ten Cavaliers accounted for the club's attempts on goal, with Sims adding four shots, while Cella and junior
Daly Ewing recording two each.
All three of Cabrini's goaltenders saw action in the victory, with sophomore
Courtney Keith securing the win.
While Lycoming's offense struggled to get on track, goaltender Isabelle Bobe was on her game, notching 14 saves in the losing effort.
Cabrini has little time to enjoy their back to back victories, as FDU-Florham awaits the Blue and White on Saturday. The action will get underway at 3pm.
