The Field Hockey team was defeated by the conference-leading Seahawks of Saint Mary's 5-1 on Wednesday afternoon.
The Seahawks struck first as Emma Watkins received a cross pass from Brenna Ziegler and found the back of the goal for the 1-0 lead. In a déjà vu moment just five minutes later, Ziegler would once again navigate multiple Cavaliers, find Watkins on a cross pass to score her second goal of the afternoon, and put the Seahawks up 2-0.
St. Mary's would score an additional goal in the second period and lead the Cavaliers 3-0 at halftime.
Cabrini would come out on the attack in the second half.
Daly Ewing would find the back of the goal coming off a penalty corner taken by
Adrianna Jones, and the Cavaliers would cut the lead to 3-1.
However, the Seahawks could continue their offensive onslaught, scoring twice in the second half and defeating the Cavaliers by the final score of 5-1.
The Cavaliers return to action at Edith Robb Dixon Field on Saturday afternoon at Noon against Gwynedd Mercy.
