St. Mary's City, MD - On Wednesday, Cabrini Field Hockey traveled to face No. 1 seeded St. Mary's for the chance to play in the Atlantic East Conference Final.
While the Cavaliers were extremely competitive in the match, they'd fall to the Seahawks behind a single goal from their Senior captain midfielder.
The Seahawks scored the game's lone goal in the second period. As
Julia Malle blocked a shot from St. Mary's, the rebound found the Seahawks shottaker, who scored her second-chance attempt from the left side of the shooter's circle.
The Cavaliers were aggressive in their pursuit of an equalizer following St. Mary's goal. Cabrini earned two penalty corners and attempted four shots in the ensuing minutes, but each chance came up empty.
With two defensive saves and three goalkeeper saves, the Seahawks kept Cabrini scoreless for all four periods of play.
Caroline Gallagher created three shots on the evening, while
Adrianna Jones placed both of her shot attempts on target.
Courtney Keith faced 10 shots and made 2 saves to hold St. Mary's to a single score.
