INNDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Cabrini University freshman men's soccer player Dominic Petruzzelli was named NCAA Division III National Student Athlete Advisory Committee associate member for the Atlantic East Conference and will partner with a student-athlete from the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference for the coming years.

As a Division III SAAC Associate member, Petruzzelli will help enhance student-athlete leadership in the governance of intercollegiate athletics at the national level as well as for the Atlantic East Conference as a whole and for Cabrini as an institution. As an Associate Member, Petruzzelli will partner and work closely with the primary member from the AMCC to establish a communication plan that best serves the needs of their schools within their respective conferences while placing special emphasis on key legislative proposals, policies, and on a strategic direction.

"Dom has established himself as an incredible young leader both on campus and within our Men's Soccer program," said head men's soccer coach Rob Dallas.  "All of us here at Cabrini are ecstatic to see that he was selected to represent SAAC at the national level.  Dom is going to be a phenomenal ambassador for division III athletes as well as Cabrini."

In just eight months since first stepping onto Cabrini's campus, Petruzzelli has established himself a well-known presence for the Blue and White. From being a member of the Cabrini men's soccer team, a member of the math club, student government secretary, and one of the first faces new and prospective students see when they step on campus by being a tour guide, Petruzzelli has left an immediate impact in his first year at the collegiate level.

"He will immediately add an incredible level of detail and professionalism to any room he works in," added Dallas. I wish him the best of luck as he begins with his new position, and I am excited to see the progress of the committee as he serves in this new role."

Petruzzelli will attend the National Student Athlete Advisory Committee meeting in July, 2023 in Phoenix, Ariz.
