RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini University men's lacrosse team rolled past Immaculata Saturday afternoon as the Cavaliers topped the Mighty Macs 27-3 at home.
Saturday's contest was scoreless for the first five and a half minutes of action until senior
Austin Bolton scored twice in a row to put the Cavs up 2-0. Then from the 5:11 mark to the 1:35 mark, Bolton and fellow senior
Dillon McManus went back-to-back on five goals. McManus ended the Bolton-McManus pattern at the 1:21 mark when the Dix Hills, N.Y. native found the back of the net twice in a row to put Cabrini up 8-0 after the first period. In the second, the Mighty Macs netted one, but the Cavs scored six more times and took a 14-1 lead into the break.
In the third,
Connor Herraiz and
Jake Schneider scored to put the Cavs ahead 16-1 and after the Mighty Macs scored their second goal, Bolton began a string of six Cabrini goals before the Macs scored their third and final goal of the contest at the end of the period. Then in the fourth,
Jason Fridge continued his hot streak of goals as the sophomore netted two more, helping the Cavs coast to a 27-3 victory.
McManus and Bolton each tallied five goals on the day while Herraiz tallied a team-high eight points on six assists and two goals.
The Cavaliers return to action on Friday, April 21 as Cabrini heads to Salisbury, Md. for a bout with the No. 2-ranked Salisbury University Seagulls. First aceoff is set for 7 p.m.
