SALISBURY, Md. – The Cabrini University men's lacrosse team fell to the No. 2-ranked Salisbury University Seagulls 14-7 Friday night on the road.
The Seagulls got out to a 2-0 lead by the 11:53 mark, but a goal from
Dillon McManus six seconds later to cut the deficit in half. Salisbury then went on a nine-goal scoring run and took an 11-1 lead into the break.
The Cavs offense came to life in the second half as McManus scored his second goal of the game and sparked five straight Cabrini goals.
Corbin Carraghan followed McManus on an assist from
Connor Herraiz. At the 7:27 mark, McManus found the back of the Seagulls net for his third goal of the game followed by two straight from
Tommy Vaughan to cut the deficit to five, 11-6. The fourth was scoreless for the first half of the period until Herraiz netted his second of the game, but the Seagulls scored twice more to put the game on ice and down the Cavs 14-7.
McManus recorded his seventh game of three goals or more. Herraiz finished with two assists and has now recorded at least one assist in all 14 games this season.
The Cavaliers return to action on Saturday, April 22 as Cabrini heads to Arlington, Va. to take on Marymount University. Faceoff is set for 1 p.m.
