Huntington Valley, PA - On Saturday morning, Cabrini University Cross Country competed in the Abington Invitational, hosted by Penn State Abington. 

The Cavaliers ran at Lorimer Park, a steeper course where runners may finish 90 seconds to 2 minutes slower than they could on a flat course.

Zack Donlen, Conor Loven, and Jenrry Millan Flores were among the top 50 finishers and held a top 40 score in the 8k race. Sam Frederick placed top 50 in the 6k.

The Men's team combined for 245 points, awarding them a 9th place finish in a 17 team field. Points wise, Cabrini was neck and neck with several Nittany teams. Just 9 points separated the 7th place PSU-Berks and 10th place PSU-Abrington.

Coach Andrew Sennett praised Cabrini's performance. "The team ran really well on a tough course today. They all showed a lot of strength to push through some big hills and mud, and I think it shows that their training is going well and they're building a lot of strength at an important time in the season."

The Cavaliers will race again in one week's time. They will compete in the Jack St. Clair Memorial Invite, hosted by Thomas Jefferson University, on Saturday, October 7th.
