How It Happened
- Lynchburg scored the game's opening goal in the third minute, as the Hornets found a window for a quick rip into the high corner.
- Cabrini evened the score 1-1 with 5:43 remaining in the first quarter. The Cavaliers picked up possession on the endline, where Jason Fridge carried in and fed Mason Lenart even with the goal line extended. Lenart had a tight angle shot side right, but managed to beat Lynchburg's keeper with an eye-level shot into the top of the net.
- The Hornets responded with three goals in a ninety second window, as Lynchburg took a 4-1 lead in the opening quarter.
- Early in the second quarter, the Cavaliers scored after a Lynchburg timeout. From the X, Dillon McManus faked a pass to his right, then found Connor Herraiz side left. Herraiz fired a shot near post for the Cavs' second goal.
- Lynchburg followed with a pair of goals man-up, then six more as the Hornets took a commanding lead into halftime.
- After the break, Mario Leone fought through contact, then passed through the Hornets' back line to Jason Fridge. Fridge capitalized, as he'd punch in the Cavaliers' third goal on the day.
- Cabrini's effort was on display for their fourth goal, where the Cavaliers prevented Lynchburg's clear and reclaimed possession on the wing. Cabrini quickly worked the ball around before Gerry Ulatowski found Jason Fridge. With a defender in his face, Fridge rose up for his second goal and third point of the afternoon.
- The Cavaliers beat the third quarter clock for their final goal, as Connor Herraiz assisted long-stick midfielder Sebastian Tobias. Just in front of the restraining line, Tobias wound up for a shot top-center, skipping the ball past the Hornet goalkeeper.
- Lynchburg tacked on four more goals in the fourth, as the Hornets took the game at home by a comfortable margin.
