Cardinals’ Fourth Quarter Run Sinks Cavaliers

RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini University men's lacrosse team dropped a non-conference game to Catholic University on Tuesday evening. The Cavaliers return to Edith Robb Dixon Field on Friday to face Eastern.
 
Scoring
-Connor Herraiz led the Cavaliers with 4 goals, followed by Dillon McManus with 3. Jason Fridge, Tommy Vaughan, Austin Bolton, and Gavin Lenart each scored one.
-Griffin Ganster and Jason Fridge had a pair of assists, as Mason Lenart, Tommy Vaughan, Mario Leone, Sebastian Tobias, and Brett Gougler each had a helper.

Defensive
-Sam Kirk and Bear Evans earned a game-high 2 caused turnovers.
-Peter Hewitt had 6 ground balls and a caused turnover.
-John McCormick went 9-24 on faceoff chances, collecting 6 ground balls.
-Brayden Skipper had 9 saves and 6 ground balls to 12 goals against.

  • Catholic had the early edge as the Cardinals outscored the Cavaliers 4-1 near the end of the first quarter. 
  • Cabrini would close quarter one with a goal at 0:08, prompting a 4 goal swing for the Cavs. Cabrini took a 5-4 lead with second quarter goals at 14:04, 11:39, and 7:17.
  • The teams would exchange goals in the third period, feeding a 6-6 game midway through the third.
  • Cabrini finished the third quarter on a 4-0 run, delivering 2 scores in the final minute.
  • Trailing 6-10, Catholic netted 6 straight goals to create a late 2 goal lead.
