Erin Nollen Conaway knew she wanted to stay close to her West Chester home and play lacrosse, but was not quite sure where that destination would be.
That all changed when she met Head Coach Jackie Neary (HOF ’13) and the rest was program history.
Nollen Conaway went on to become one of the best players and top scorers in program history.
She ranked first or second on the team in points, goals and assists in each of her four seasons, a feat which led to four All-Colonial States Athletic Conference honors, including three First Team nods.
Over her four-year career, Nollen Conaway amassed 295 points, 227 goals, and 68 assists, all of which rank among the leaders on the program’s all-time lists. Nollen Conaway also stands ninth in CSAC history in goals and points.
While Nollen Conaway had tremendous confidence in her abilities, she credits having great teammates and Coach Neary as important keys to her personal success and that of her teams.
Nollen Conaway has also found that many of the aspects that made her successful on the pitch have carried into her life off the field.
Her mental and physical toughness, ability to thrive under pressure and self-discipline have gone a long way to helping her reach personal, professional and family goals.
While her team’s two CSAC championships rank among her favorite memories from her college days, Nollen Conaway truly relishes the moments off the field.
Memories of celebrating wins with her teammates as well as long road trips and the program’s annual spring Break trip to Florida immediately came to mind. But the most impactful experience at Cabrini was meeting her husband, former men’s lacrosse student-athlete Matt Conaway (’09).
