SCRANTON, Pa. – The Cabrini volleyball team continued its Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) schedule Monday, sweeping Marywood University, 3-0. Senior Lindsay Martin led the Cavaliers' charge, tallying a team-high eight kills on 12 attempts in the win.
Martin also contributed three digs, two assists and two service aces as Cabrini recorded its 11th three-set shutout of the 2008 season.
Junior setter Lizzie Williams collected a club-leading 16 assists. She tallied four kills on seven tries and four digs. Freshman Courtney Abel also notched four digs, matching Williams' team-high performance.
Sophomore Stephanie Recklau led Cabrini at the net, registering three total blocks, including two solo stuffs. Seniors Danielle Finnegan and Michelle Mola each totaled three digs.
Behind a .462 team attack percentage, Cabrini cruised to a one-set advantage with a commanding 25-9 victory in the opening game. The Cavaliers clinched the win with successive 25-21 wins in sets two and three.
Cabrini (15-10, 6-1) returns home for its final regular season match of the season, hosting The College of Notre Dame Saturday, October 25 at 1 p.m. in Nerney Field House.
