Volleyball, Seniors Celebrate 3-0 Win Against College of Notre Dame

The Cabrini volleyball team honored its seniors with a 3-0 win against the College of Notre Dame Saturday.

The Cabrini volleyball team celebrated Senior Day Saturday in emphatic fashion, blanking Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) foe the College of Notre Dame, 3-0, at Nerney Field House. Before the first set, seniors Kaitlyn Fetterman, Danielle Finnegan, Lindsay Martin and Michelle Mola were honored for their hardwork and dedication to the program.

Martin led all Cavaliers on the offensive end, notching 11 kills on 22 attempts. She also added seven digs and four assists. Fetterman contributed eight kills and five total blocks.

Junior Traci Beltz and sophomore Stephanie Recklau buried seven and six kills, respectively. Recklau also logged two total blocks.

Junior setter Lizzie Williams guided the Cabrini attack to a .239 hitting percentage with a team-high 27 assists. She also tallied nine digs and three kills.

Defensively, Mola led the Cavaliers' backline, recording aclub-leading 14 digs. Freshman Courtney Abel registered eight digs and Finnegan totaled six.

After securing a two-set advantage with wins of 25-15 and 25-21, Cabrini clinched the victory, its fourth straight and ninth in the last 11 matches, with a commanding 25-10 triumph in the third game.

The Cavaliers three-set sweep is their 12th of the season overall and seventh against a CSAC opponent. Cabrini finishes the regular season with a 5-1 record at home.

Cabrini (16-10, 7-1) plays the first of its last two CSAC matches at Philadelphia Biblical University Tuesday, October 28 at 7 p.m. The Cavaliers and Crimson Eagles are deadlocked with identical 7-1 league records.
