RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini women's soccer team reestablished its winning ways and snapped a brief two-game skid Tuesday at Edith Robb Dixon Field, claiming a 3-0 shutout win at the expense of Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) foe Immaculata University. Junior Annmarie Kolla collected her first goal of the season as the Cavaliers climb above the .500 mark in CSAC play.
The Cabrini offense reached the 20-total shot plateau for seventh time this season and fifth time in the last six outings. Junior Sabina DeGisi led the Cavaliers with six shots, including four on the Mighty Macs' net.
Senior Nikki Duggan and freshman Kara Hinkelmon contributed three shots each. The Cabrini attack boasted 11 student-athletes with at least one shot.
DeGisi sparked the Cavaliers' offense, scoring the game's first goal after 34 minutes of scoreless play. Off a feed from junior Jenna Laufenberg, DeGisi found herself alone and in front of goalkeeper Jessia Gaburo for her team-best sixth goal of the season.
The Cabrini defense, behind seniors Jen Burke, Christina Romano, Duggan and junior Amanda Ribakusky, clutched a one-goal lead for nearly 50 minutes following.
Kolla's tally at the 83:24 mark handed the hosts a two-goal edge and iced the Cavaliers' victory. Sophomore Dana Nardello put an exclamation point on the win with her third goal of the season, beating Gaburo off a pass from senior Collette Walsh with just 90 seconds remaining.
Sophomore goalkeeper Gianna Porretta claimed two saves en route to her second shutout of the season.
The Cavaliers owned a commanding 7-2 advantage in corners.
Cabrini (6-6-0, 3-2-0) returns to the road Wednesday, October 15 at non-conference foe Moravian College at 4 p.m.
