Women's Basketball Keeps Good Times Rolling, Knocks Off Cedar Crest College, 69-53

The Cabrini women's basketball team captured its sixth straight victory and improved its Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) record to a perfect 10-0 with a 69-53 win Saturday against Cedar Crest College at Nerney Field House.

The Cavaliers' inside presence of seniors Kayleen Smith and Brittany McLeod proved to be too much for the Falcons, as the duo combined to score 38 points on 16-for-30 shooting.

Smith led the Blue & Gray with 20 points, shooting 3-for-3 from long range and 8-for-15 overall. She also tallied three rebounds and dished two assists.

McLeod totaled 18 points on 8-for-15 shooting, as well. She grabbed a team-high nine rebounds and swiped two steals.

Senior Rachel Caron and junior Alyssa Brady each collected eight points. Brady corralled seven boards and handed out and club-best five assists.

The Cavaliers pulled away from Cedar Crest in the second half, shooting 46.7 percent from the field.

The Blue & Gray forced the Falcons into 23 turnovers, converting the miscues into 15 points. The Cavaliers also out-scored Cedar Crest 14-2 off the bench.

Cabrini (15-3, 10-0) plays its second of four straight at home Monday, February 2 against CSAC North Division leader Centenary College. Game time is set for 6 p.m.
