LA PLUME, Pa. – The Cabrini women's soccer team has won its last five matches following a commanding 6-0 win at Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) opponent Keystone College Saturday afternoon. The shutout extends the Cavaliers' consecutive scoreless streak to 455 minutes dating back to September 26 at home against Marywood University.
The Cabrini offense recorded 47 totals shots and featured six different goal scorers. Senior forward Kristin Comly notched her first career goal in the victory.
Comly becomes the fourth player this week to score her first career goal for the Cavaliers. In Cabrini's 9-0 win versus Penn State - Abington Tuesday, junior back Brianna Conner, sophomore back Amy Loesser and junior goalkeeper/forward Gianna Porretta each scored their first career goals.
Freshman forward Alex Tralie handed the Cavaliers a 1-0 advantage at the 12:54 mark with her third goal of the season. Comly added Cabrini's second score of the contest at the 27:16 mark off a feed from junior midfielder Dana Nardello.
The Cavaliers held a 3-0 cushion at the intermission after senior forward Sabina DeGisi found the back of the net for a team-best 10th time this season. DeGisi reaches the 10-goal plateau in a single season for the fourth time in her Cabrini career.
Junior forward Annmarie Kolla pushed the Blue & White lead to 4-0, scoring her four goal of the season in the 49th minute. Senior midfielder Jenna Laufenberg deposited the Cavaliers' fifth goal at the 68:16 mark.
Senior back Amanda Ribakusky capped the game's scoring in the 84th minute, finding the twine for the first time since her first game as a freshman in 2006. Ribakusky has become a fixture on the Cavaliers' backline, but was able to beat Keystone goalkeeper Saleta Oakley at the 83:28 mark.
Junior goalkeeper Gianna Porretta notched four saves for her ninth career shutout, second of the season and first since Cabrini's 2-0 win against Franklin & Marshall College September 1.
Freshman midfielder Maddy Edwards led the offensive charge on the Giant's net, posting a team-high eight shots. Freshman midfielder Dana Drake tallied six shots.
Cabrini (7-5-1, 3-1-1) returns home Wednesday, October 14 against Neumann University at 4 p.m.
