RADNOR, Pa. –
Junior forward Annmarie Kolla's goal at the 4:37 mark of the first overtime period ended more than 95 minutes of scoreless play and handed the Cabrini women's soccer team a thrilling 1-0 win versus Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) opponent Gwynedd-Mercy College Tuesday night at Edith Robb Dixon Field.

The victory extends the Cavaliers' win streak to a program-record seven games. In addition, the Cabrini defense notched its seventh consecutive shutout and extended its consecutive scoreless minutes streak to 642.

Kolla provided the game's heroics with her fifth goal of the season. On the run down the left sideline, she chipped a shot over Griffins goalkeeper Kristie Pollock's out-stretched hands before the ball took one bounce and settled into the opposite corner of the twine. Sophomore midfielder Sammy Thompson's lead pass into the box set-up the decisive tally.

Freshman goalkeeper Maddy Edwards earned her team-best fifth shutout of the season, recording seven saves. Pollock made 12 stops for GMC in the losing effort.

The Blue & White had its opportunities throughout the contest, but really applied the pressure to the Gwynedd-Mercy defense towards the latter part of the second half. Twice in the final five minutes of regulation, senior forward Sabina DeGisi and sophomore midfielder Kara Hinkelmon were stopped on the Griffins' doorstep.

The Cavaliers out-shot Gwynedd-Mercy for the contest 21-12, including a 13-4 edge from overtime to when Kolla deposited the game-winner.

DeGisi led the Blue & White charge on the offensive end, tallying six shots. GMC sophomore forward Gwen Conte and freshman forward Meghan Bojanowski each attempted three shots.

The Cavaliers' victory also impacts the current status of power in the CSAC standings. The win supplies the Blue & White with 16 points, pulling it into a tie for fourth place with Immaculata University. Gwynedd-Mercy owns sole possession of third place with 18 points.

Cabrini (9-5-1, 5-1-1) returns to the road for a meeting with Philadelphia Biblical University Thursday, October 22 at 4 p.m. The contest has been rescheduled to Thursday due to a postponement from Saturday, October 17.
