ROSEMONT, Pa. – The Cabrini women's basketball team is now 13-1 in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play following a 70-41 win at league-foe Rosemont College Thursday. Junior shooting guard Alyssa Brady ignited the Cavaliers' offense, scoring a team-high 14 points.
Brady shot 5-for-8 from the field overall, including a scorching 4-for-5 clip from long range in just 16 minutes played. Junior guard Kasey Agostinacchio totaled a season-high 13 points, knocking down all three of her three-point attempts.
Senior forward Kate Fetterman contributed a season-best eight points on 3-for-4 shooting. Junior shooting guard Kate Walck added seven points and three assists.
Senior forward Brittany McLeod led the Cavaliers' charge on the glass, grabbing a club-best nine rebounds. Senior forward Kayleen Smith tallied five points, six boards, four helpers and three steals.
The Blue & Gray led 40-15 at halftime behind a 50 percent shooting performance in the opening 20 minutes. The Cavaliers also drained 8-of-15 long-range attempts.
The Ramblers didn't aid their cause in the first half, shooting a paltry 22.2 percent from the floor.
Cabrini forced Rosemont into 20 turnovers, benefitting from 18 points on the opposite end. The Cavaliers out-scored the hosts 34-5 off the bench.
Guard Alesha Butler and forward Vanessa Johnson each had 14 points for the Ramblers. Forward Adriann Demchenko tallied six points and claimed a game-high 15 rebounds.
The win improves the Blue & Gray's lead to 2.5 games against Gwynedd-Mercy College (16-6, 10-3) with two conference games remaining on its schedule. The Griffins have three league contests remaining.
Cabrini (18-4, 13-1) remains on the road Saturday, February 14 for a Valentine's Day Matinee at CSAC opponent Neumann College. The Cavaliers and Knights are set to tip at 1 p.m.
