Women's Basketball Cruises to 67-39 Win Against Rosemont College

Senior Alyssa Brady notched her first double-double of the season with 18 points and 10 rebounds Saturday.

The Cabrini women's basketball team is back above the .500 mark after a resounding 67-39 win against Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) opponent Rosemont College Saturday at Nerney Field House. Senior combo guard Alyssa Brady totaled a team-high 18 points for the Cavaliers in the win.

Brady flirted with a triple-double, adding 10 rebounds and six assists. She shot 6-for-10 overall and drained 3-of-4 3-point attempts. Brady also swiped four steals.

Senior point guard Deana DiAmico tallied 15 points, eclipsing the 900-point plateau for her Cabrini career. She has scored 904 points in 97 career games played with the Cavaliers. DiAmico shot 5-for-9 from the floor overall and 3-for-7 from long range versus the Ravens.

Sophomore combo guard Laura Caron also reach double figures, matching a career-high with 11 points on 5-for-8 shooting overall. Sophomore forward Kara Hinkelmon added six points and junior guard Julie Bonomo chipped in five points in a reserve role.

Cabrini shot 50.0 percent from the field in the first half en route to a comfortable 25-point cushion, 43-18. Brady and DiAmico each cracked double digits before the intermission, scoring 12 and 10 points, respectively.

The Ravens opened the second half on an 11-2 run, cutting their deficit to 16 points, 45-29, at the 15:18 mark. Rosemont trailed by 18 points, 55-37, with 7:20 remaining.

However, the Blue & White used a 12-0 run over the next four minutes to build a game-high 30-point advantage, 67-37, with 2:47 on the clock in the second half. Brady scored six points with two 3-point baskets to spark the run.

The Cabrini defense forced 22 turnovers and held the Rosemont attack to just 30.9 percent shooting for the game. The Cavaliers have held two straight opponents, and three overall for the season, under 40 points.

Sophomore forward Vanessa Johnson led the Ravens' offense, scoring a team-high 10 points in 26 minutes played off the bench. Freshman guard Kate Clarkson added eight points.

Cabrini (7-6, 5-1) will play its fifth straight contest at home versus CSAC opponent Neumann University Thursday, Jan. 21 at 6 p.m.
