SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The Cabrini volleyball team won its fourth and fifth consecutive matches to begin day one at the Garnet Classic hosted by Swarthmore College on Friday. The Cavaliers topped Wesley College in three sets before knocking off Marymount University in four games.
Senior middle hitter
Stephanie Recklau powered Cabrini past Wesley, tallying a team-best 12 kills. Junior outside hitter
Alexis Doss complimented the Cavaliers' attack with 10 kills.
Freshman outside hitter
Sophia Sokolovich notched a club-high nine digs, while fellow rookie
Alaina Clark recorded eight. Clark guided the Blue & White offense versus the Wolverines with 23 assists.
Against Marymount, sophomore outside hitter
Megan Ryan totaled a team-high 12 kills. Recklau and Sokolovich each buried 10.
Defensively, junior libero
Courtney Abel led the Cavaliers with 20 digs and freshman
Kristy Riley posted 19. Clark dished out 40 helpers in the victory.
Cabrini (6-2) resumes play at the Garnet Classic on Saturday. The Cavaliers meet Albright College at 12 p.m. before tangling with host Swarthmore at 2 p.m.
