BRYN MAWR, Pa. – The Cabrini women's soccer team captured its second straight victory to open the 2010 regular season on Saturday afternoon, besting Centennial Conference opponent Bryn Mawr College, 1-0. Sophomore forward Alex Tralie provided all the offense that the Blue & White needed with her first goal of the season.
The Blue & White played more than 84 minutes scoreless with the Owls until Tralie found the back of the net off a feed from senior forward Annmarie Kolla. The Cavaliers' offense out-shot BMC, 22-2, for the match.
Kolla and junior midfielder Kara Hinkelmon led the charge, each recording five shots. Tralie and junior midfielder Sammy Thompson each fired three attempts.
Sophomore goalkeeper Maddy Edwards made her first start of the season and needed just one save for her seventh career shutout.
Junior midfielder Kathi Seto tallied Bryn Mawr's lone two shots on the afternoon. Sophomore goalkeeper Rebecca Joseph made nine saves for the Owls in the loss.
Cabrini (2-0-0) continues play at the Bryn Mawr Tournament tomorrow in the championship round. The Cavaliers are awaiting the winner of today's 3 p.m. match featuring The Sage Colleges and Sweet Briar College.
