Volleyball Downs Bryn Mawr College, 3-1

BRYN MAWR, Pa. –
The Cabrini volleyball team captured its third victory in as many matches with a 3-1 win at Centennial Conference opponent Bryn Mawr College on Thursday night. Freshman setter Alaina Clark tallied 29 assists en route to the victory for the Cavaliers.

Senior middle hitter Stephanie Recklau and freshman middle hitter Michele Fitz each recorded eight kills. Junior outside hitter Alexis Doss and freshman outside hitter Sophia Sokolovich each buried seven.

Defensively, Sokolovich led the Blue & White with 21 digs. Doss and freshman Carly Cagle each chipped in with 11.

Cabrini jumped out to a one-set advantage with a 25-17 victory in the opening game. The Owls answered with a 25-21 triumph in the second stanza.

The Cavaliers broke the 1-1 tie with a 25-19 win in the third set. The Blue & White closed out the match with a 25-13 victory in the fourth and final frame.

Junior middle hitter Kate Merrill led the way for Bryn Mawr, totaling 13 kills in the loss. Junior setter Emily Takeuchi-Miller dished 24 assists.

Cabrini (4-2) resumes its early-season tournament play Friday at the Garnet Classic hosted by Swarthmore College. The Cavaliers open the two-day event on Friday, Sept. 10 versus Wesley College at 4 p.m.
