ROSEMONT, Pa. – The Cabrini College women's soccer team closed its regular season on a high note this afternoon with a 4-1 win at Rosemont College. The victory improves Cabrini's record to 10-5-2 overall and 8-2-1 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference.
The Cavaliers wasted little time in taking control of the score board as senior
Kara Hinkelmon put the Blue and White up a goal in the game's fourth minute. Freshman
Melissa Scanzano recorded her first collegiate assist on the goal.
The score remained 1-0 until the 39th minute when freshman
Gabby Meck recorded her second goal of the season, slotting a shot into the lower left corner of the goal.
Just four minutes after the halftime break, Hinkelmon tallied her second goal of the game and the eighth of the season when she connected on a pass from freshman
Devon Miller. Sophomore
MaryKate McCann iced the game in the 57th minute when she put away a loose ball on the Rosemont goal line.
The Cavaliers outshot the Ravens 31-6. Twenty-three Cavaliers saw significant action in the season finale. Cabrini's three goaltenders,
Maddy Edwards,
Erin Gallagher, and
Sarah Means combined in net for the win.
The Cavaliers now await their postseason fate. With just a few days of CSAC games remaining, the Blue and White must wait until this weekend to learn who and where they will play in the CSAC tournament.
