RADNOR, Pa. –
The Cabrini women's basketball team captured its third straight victory with a 67-51 win against Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) opponent Rosemont College on Thursday night at Nerney Field House. Freshman guard MaryKate McCann scored a career-best 19 points for the Cavaliers in the victory.

Junior guard Laura Caron also reached double figures, tallying 11 points. Cabrini shot 46.7 percent and out-scored the Ravens, 44-29, in the second half en route to the victory.

McCann shot a blistering 7-for-10 overall and 5-for-7 from beyond the 3-point stripe. She also handed out four assists and corralled three rebounds.

Caron mixed in five boards and dished two assists. Junior guard Allison Gentry, who made her first career start, totaled eight points. Senior guard Julie Bonomo and freshman forward Colleen Stewart each contributed six points.

The Cavaliers captured their third straight victory despite not playing with their leading scorer, freshman guard Brittany Sandone, due to an illness.

The Blue & White struggled to find a rhythm in the first half and clung to a one-point advantage at the intermission, 23-22. In fact, Cabrini trailed the Ravens, 17-11, at the 7:39 mark.

However, the Cavaliers used an 18-5 run over six-plus minutes in the second half to secure a 13-point cushion, 46-33, with 10:26 remaining. McCann drilled two 3-point field goals during the decisive run.

Cabrini owned a 17-point lead, 54-37, at the 7:27 mark. McCann scored 14 of her 19 points after the intermission.

The win is the Cavaliers' 13th straight against Rosemont. Cabrini has won 40 of the last 42 meetings between the two programs.

With Baptist Bible College's loss tonight versus Neumann University, the Cavaliers are now in sole possession of the sixth and final spot in the CSAC Tournament with three regular season games remaining.

Senior guard Heather Daneker led Rosemont (8-13, 3-9 CSAC) offense, tallying 20 points. Junior forward Vanessa Johnson added 11 points in the loss.

Cabrini (9-13, 8-5 CSAC) plays its second of three straight home games on Saturday, Feb. 12 versus the College of Notre Dame. Game time versus the Gators is set for 2 p.m. Both the men and women's basketball programs will celebrate their annual Alumni Days on Saturday.
