RADNOR, Pa. –
The Cabrini College volleyball faced a 2-1 deficit but rallied to defeat the visiting Moravian College Greyhounds Tuesday night at Nerney Field House.  The 25-23, 24-26, 23-25, 25-14, 15-10 victory not only improved the Cavaliers record to 11-8, but leaves head coach Eric Schaefer on the brink of the 100 win milestone.

As evidenced by the final scores, the first three sets were played extremely close. Neither team was able to pull away or to truly establish any momentum.  Every time it seemed as though one team was on the verge of a run, the other would force a side out.

Early in the fourth game, it looked very similar to the first three. But with Cabrini leading 9-8 something changed. A Moravian service error gave Cabrini a 10-8 and the Cavaliers never looked back.  They won 10 of the next 13 points to take a commanding 20-10 lead.  During that run, Moravian never had consecutive serves.  The run was punctuated by points on six consecutive serves from senior Courtney Abel.

Going into game five, it was clear that Cabrini had finally seized the match's momentum.  The Cavaliers ran out to a 6-1 lead but the Greyhounds cut Cabrini's lead to just one point at 8-7.   The Blue and White refused to give up their lead, immediately extending their advantage to 11-7 before closing the match.

Junior Danielle Carrozza recorded her ninth double-double of the season with 19 kills and 34 digs in the win.  Sophomore Sophia Sokolovich added a Cavalier season-high 35 digs.  Senior Alexis Doss tallied 12 kills, while sophomore Alaina Clark added 46 assists.

Cabrini will give fifth-year head coach Eric Schaefer his first shot at his 100th career victory when they hit to road to face CSAC rival Neumann University in Aston, Pa. on Thursday night. The action gets underway at 7:00 p.m.
