ASTON, Pa. – The Cabrini College volleyball team extended its current win streak to five games with tonight's 3-1 victory at Neumann University. In doing so, the Cavaliers gave head coach
Eric Schaefer his 100th career win.
“It's all the girls,” said Schaefer, Cabrini's fifth year head coach regarding his 100th victory. “It's about the girls today and the girls who came before. It's not about me. They are the ones who are out there doing all of the work.”
After blowing a 17-10 lead in the first set and subsequently losing it 25-23, the Cavaliers took complete control of the match. Cabrini won the first five points of the second set and never looked back, winning the second sat 25-16 to even the match.
Early in the third game, both teams tried to gain the momentum. With the score tied at eight, the Cavaliers won 10 of the next 12 points to take a commanding 18-10 lead en route another 25-16 set victory.
The flow of set four was similar to that before it. Neumann was trying to get back into the match as Cabrini looked to clinch the win. With the score tied at 12, the Cavaliers again went on a run, capturing six of the next seven points and an 18-13 advantage. Cabrini closed the match with a 25-18 win in the fourth set.
Tonight's win avenged Cabrini's 3-2 marathon loss to Neumann last year that snapped the Cavalier's 23 match CSAC winning streak.

Danielle Carrozza recorded her 10th double-double of the season with 17 kills and 19 digs. Senior
Alexis Doss added 15 kills. Sophomore setter
Alaina Clark tallied 35 assists. Fellow sophomore
Sophia Sokolovich notched a game-high 25 digs. Second year player
Michele Fitz added five block assists in the win.
The Cavaliers (12-8, 4-0 CSAC) will put their five game winning streak on the line when they cross Eagle Road to face Eastern University on Saturday, October 5 at 10:00 a.m. Later that day, Cabrini will return to Nerney Field House to face Marywood University at 3:00 p.m.
