RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini College Volleyball Team improved its record to 3-4 with a powerful 3-0 win over the visiting Bryn Mawr College Owls tonight at the Nerney Field House. The 25-17, 25-17, 25-14 victory was the first of two matches tonight for the Cavaliers.
Cabrini got off to a great start as junior
Danielle Carrozza recorded three consecutive kills to give the Cavaliers a 4-0 lead early in the match. The Owls managed to cut into Cabrini's lead several times throughout Game One, but each time the Cavaliers responded, never relinquishing their lead.
Sophomore
Alaina Clark closed the first game at the service line, leading Cabrini to the game's final five points on her serve.
The Blue and White opened Game Two as it did the first, running out to an early 4-0 lead, on the strength of two opening service aces by sophomore
Kristy Riley. Cabrini continued to pressure the Owls, extending their advantage to six points several times in the second game.
In Game Three, Bryn Mawr scored the game's first two points. The Cavaliers grabbed the momentum quickly, scoring 12 of the next 15 points to take a commanding 10-5 lead, en route to a 25-14 Game Three victory.
Carrozza paced the Cavaliers offense with a match-high 18 kills, while Clark added 33 assists. Sophomore libero
Sophia Sokolovich recorded 19 digs for the Blue and White.
