CLARKS SUMMIT, Pa. – The Cabrini College women's basketball team fell to 5-4 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference and 7-9 overall after today's 79-59 loss at Baptist Bible College. Sophomore
Annie Rivituso paced the Cavaliers with 10 points. Four other players notched nine points.
Cabrini opened the score book on
Leithie Faison's three-pointer. The Defenders responded with a 6-0 run to take the lead. Faison's second three of the game capped a 6-0 Cabrini spurt, to retake the advantage.
The Defenders then regained the lead with an 11-1 run over a two minute span. At the 12:45 mark, the Cavaliers trailed 17-9. Baptist Bible College extended its advantage to 33-17 with just under seven minutes before the half. A lay-up by senior
Jenn Casper with less than one minute to play cut Cabrini's deficit to 10 points at the break.
Though the Cavaliers shot nearly 41% from the field in the first stanza, the Defenders connected on five more field goals before the break. Baptist Bible College turned 10 Cabrini turnovers into 14 points and controlled the paint to the tune of a 18-8 advantage in points in the paint.
After a Defender bucket, sophomore
MaryKate McCann's trey cut the deficit to nine points. Over the next six minutes, BBC took control of the game with a 14-2 run to take a 61-38 lead with 12:39 on the clock.
Minutes later, BBC went on another spurt of 11-1, extending their advantage to 72-44.

Rivituso led the Cavaliers with seven rebounds, while junior
Renee Deas recorded six assists.
Kacee Rava led the Defenders with 22 points and 10 rebounds.
The Blue and White will step out of CSAC action on Monday when they welcome Montclair State University to Nerney Field house for a 6:00 p.m. tip-off.
