GALLOWAY, N.J. – The Cabrini College volleyball team split a pair of nonconference matches at today's Richard Stockton College tri-meet, stumbling against NYU 3-1 before beating the host 3-1. Cabrini's record now stands at 16-7 with three matches remaining in the regular season.
The Cavaliers fell behind early in their opening match against NYU, dropping the first two sets 25-20 and 27-25. The Blue and White used some of its momentum from the second set to take the third 25-20 before ultimately losing 25-18 in the fourth.
Cabrini boasted a balanced attack in the loss with five players recording at least seven kills. Senior
Danielle Carrozza led the charge with 15 kills and 13 digs in the match. Freshman
Jen Grenauer added 10 kills. Junior
Sophia Sokolovich recorded a team-high 18 digs and junior
Michele Fitz tied a season-high with four solo blocks.
The Cavaliers rebounded in its second match of the day, snapping Stockton's 22-match home win streak with a 3-1 win. The Cavaliers got off to a good start, posting a 25-20 victory in the opening set. The Ospreys rallied to take the second set 25-21. The Blue and White secured the victory with matching 25-22 wins in the third and fourth sets.

Meg Ryan and Grenauer combined for 44 of Cabrini's 49 kills. Carrozza posted her second-double-double of the day with a match high 20 kills and 13 digs. Ryan added 13 kills, while Sokolovich added 14 digs. Freshman Cassidy
Koenig paired 36 assists with 12 digs in the win.
Cabrini will return to action on Monday when it travels to Rosemont College for a CSAC tilt. First serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
