Women's Soccer Scores 4th Straight Shutout

Box Score

RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini College women's soccer team moved into a second place tie in the Colonial States Athletic Conference with tonight's 1-0 victory over the visiting Centenary College Cyclones.  The win improves Cabrini's record to 7-6-3 overall and 6-1-3 in the CSAC.

The win also improves the Blue and White's win streak to four matches.  The Cavaliers have won each of those games by shutout, the program's longest shutout streak since 2009 when the Cavaliers posted nine consecutive victories by shutout.

Prior to the match, Cabrini Director of Athletics and Recreation Brad Koch presented Cavaliers' head coach Ken Prothero with a plaque commemorating the coach's 100th career win which came on October 13th against Notre Dame University of Maryland.

The game's lone goal came in the 30th minute as freshman Nicole Hallinan found fellow rookie Kerri Hinkelmon about 20 yards from the goal.  Hinkelmon fired a shot the past Centenary goaltender Megan Williams for her first career goal.

The Cavaliers made the solo goal stand up with another stellar defensive effort.  Senior goaltender Maddy Edwards recorded her 23rd career shutout after recording a save on Centenary's only shot on goal.  The Cavaliers have allowed five or less shots on goal in 13 of their 16 games this season.

Cabrini held the Cyclones to just three total shots and one corner kick on the night, while firing 13 shots and securing four corners.  The trio of Hinkelmon, fellow freshman Dana Peterson and junior Noelle DiCioccio led the Cavaliers with two shots each.

Williams recorded three saves for Centenary (6-8-2, 5-4-1) in the loss.  Senior Tatiana Kingston recorded the Cyclones' only shot on goal.

The Blue and White will close its regular season on Saturday when they welcome the Cedar Crest Falcons to Edith Robb Dixon Field.  The action is scheduled to begin at 12 Noon, immediately following Cabrini's Senior Day 2012 ceremony.
