Box Score

RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini College volleyball team secured its fourth consecutive season with at least 10 CSAC wins with tonight's 3-0 sweep of Cedar Crest College. The victory closes the Cavaliers' conference schedule with a 10-1 mark and improves the squad to 18-7 overall.

Cabrini used the combination of a powerful offense and dominant defense en route to the 25-11, 25-10, 25-17 victory.  The Cavaliers recorded 45 kills against just nine attack errors, while holding the Falcons to 14 kills and 18 errors.   The Blue and White also paired nine service aces with 11 total blocks in the win.

The Cavaliers wasted little time in exerting their will, scoring the first 11 points of the match, 10 of which came with Sokolovich at the service line.  Carrozza opened the match with five kills in the opening set, while a quartet of Cavaliers combined for four blocks.

The Falcons opened the second set with a little momentum, scoring two of the set's first three points before the Blue and White came back.  Cabrini established a 9-3 lead after Koenig tallied five consecutive points at the service line.  The Cavaliers extended their lead later in the set as junior Alaina Clark led the Blue and White to six consecutive points, including a pair of aces, giving Cabrini a 19-7 advantage.

The final set was much more competitive than the first two as the score remained tied until late in the set.  The Cavaliers established a pair of four point leads early in the set before the Falcons evened the score at 13.  The clubs exchanged points until they found themselves tied at 17.  A kill by sophomore Molly Fox gave Cabrini an 18-17 advantage, one they would not surrender.  The Blue and White tallied the final seven points of the match with junior Kristy Riley at the service line.  A Riley service ace and a pair of kills by Fox and Carrozza closed the match.

Senior Danielle Carrozza commanded Cabrini's offense tonight with a match-high 18 kills.  Freshman Jen Granauer and senior Meg Ryan combined for 15 kills for the Blue and White.   Freshman Cassidy Koenig served up 36 assists, while junior Sophia Sokolovich recorded a match-high 12 digs.

The Cavaliers will close their regular season tomorrow night when they welcome #21 Eastern University to Nerney Field House.  First serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., immediately following the Senior Night ceremony.
