RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini College volleyball team continued its roll today, overpowering the Notre Dame (Md.) Gators 3-0. The victory keeps the Blue and White unblemished in the CSAC at 5-0 and improves it to 12-4 overall.
The 25-11, 25-8, 25-10 straight set victory extends the Blue and White's win streak to 10 consecutive matches overall and 16 consecutive regular season CSAC matches. The 10 match win streak matches that of the 2009 club, whose 10th win claimed the school's first Colonial States Athletic Conference title.
The Cavaliers wasted no time taking control of the match, scoring four of the first five points. Only three times in the opening set did the Gators attempt back-to-back serves. Seniors
Danielle Carrozza and
Meg Ryan combined for nine kills in the first set, setting the tone for the rest of the match. Cabrini recorded 14 kills to Notre Dame's two en route to the 25-11 first set victory.
The Blue and White continues its pressure in the second set. The Cavaliers turned up the defensive effort, forcing the Gators into eight attack errors. Cabrini also recorded five total block during the frame. Freshman
Cassidy Koenig made her impact from the service line as the rookie served the final nine points of the set. In total, Cabrini won points on 10 of Koenig's 11 serves during the set.
Cabrini stepped its offense up in the final set, recording 12 kills against just one error, led by Carrozza's five kills. Similar to the second set, the Cavaliers took advantage of their serve. Notre Dame (Md.) served just 10 times during the set. Conversely, junior
Kristy Riley took eight serves, securing six points on those serves.

Junior Courtney Silvis led the Gators with five kills. Freshman Kamelya Medina recorded a team-high 10 digs.
The Cavaliers will return to the court on Saturday as they travel to Langhorne, Pa. to face Cairn University. First serve is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. at Cairn's Mason Activity Center.
