LANGHORNE, Pa. – The Cabrini College did something today that hasn't been done in years. The Cavaliers topped Cairn University today 3-1 to extend their current win streak to 11 matches. The victory improves the Blue and White to 13-4 overall and 6-0 in the CSAC.
The Cavaliers took control of the match early in the first set, as they scored eight consecutive points after falling behind 1-0. The Blue and White used an all-around game to secure the 25-11 victory, tallying eight kills, three service aces and four total blocks.
Cabrini got off to a similar start in game two, taking 10 of the first 13 points of the set. Freshman

Danielle Carrozza led the Blue and White with three kills each, as the Cavaliers took a 2-0 lead with the 25-13 set win.
The Highlanders got back into the match in the third set. Neither team took more than a three point lead in a set that featured 12 ties. Carrozza and fellow senior
Meg Ryan anchored Cabrini's offense in the third set, combining for nine kills, as Cairn posted a 26-24 win.
The Highlanders continued their hot play early in the fourth set, establishing an early 8-5 lead. Junior
Sophia Sokolovich stepped to the service line with the Cavaliers trailing 13-12 and served Cabrini to 15-13 lead, its first of the set. Cairn reclaimed the lead at 25-24, looking to send the match to a fifth and final set but kills by Ryan and Carrozza shut the door and gave Cabrini the 27-25 win.
Carrozza and Ryan were dominant on the offensive side of the net, combining for 32 kills. Carrozza added 10 digs and a pair of service aces. Freshman
Cassidy Koenig recorded 41 assists in the victory.
Junior
Michele Fitz led Cabrini's defense with eight total blocks. If the ball got past Fitz, Sokolovich was there with 25 digs.
Cabrini will put its 17 match CSAC win streak on the line on Tuesday when Neumann University pays a visit to Nerney Field House in a rematch of the 2011 CSAC Championship match. First serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
