BALTIMORE, Md. – The Cabrini College women's basketball team opened Colonial States Athletic Conference play with a victory for the seventh consecutive season, topping Notre Dame University of Maryland 84-23.
The Cavaliers got offensive contributions from 14 players, with no one playing more than 19 minutes, as they improved to 3-2 on the year.
In her first action of the season, freshman
Meghan Martin led the Blue and White with 11 points on 4-6 shooting, including 1-1 from three point range and 2-2 from the free throw line. Junior

The Gators opened the scoring but the Cavaliers responded with the game's next 10 points. The Blue and White then embarked on a 26-2 run to put the game out of reach, building a 36-4 lead with 8:21 to play in the first half.
Cabrini shot 48.8% from the floor in the opening stanza to build a 52-8 halftime lead. The Blue and White also connected on 9-10 from the free throw line. Notre Dame (Md.) managed just three field goals in the first half on 17 shot attempts.
The Cavaliers continued their solid play after the break, knocking down 44.4% from the floor. Notre Dame connected on just four second half field goals and recorded 13 turnovers.
On the evening, Cabrini dominated the painted area of the hardwood. The Cavaliers outrebounded the Gators 50-24, including 29 offensive boards. Cabrini also built a 48-4 advantage in the paint and turned 36 Notre Dame turnovers into 45 points.

Laura Caron each added eight points in the win.
Marissa White led the Gators with 9 points, while Briawna Jones added seven.
The Cavaliers will host their conference home opener on Wednesday, when Immaculata pays a visit to Nerney Field House. The game is slated to begin at 6:00 p.m.
