RADNOR, Pa. –
It had been 18 days since the Cavaliers felt the way they did leaving the court tonight.  For the first time in seven games, the Cabrini College women's basketball team left the floor with a win, defeating Rosemont College 62-47.

The win evens the Blue and White's Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) record at 6-6 and improves their overall record to 8-13.

Sophomore Brittany Sandone led a balanced attack with 13 points.  Six Cabrini players netted at least seven points in the win.

The Cavaliers fell behind early as Rosemont scored the first eight points of the game.  Freshman Megan Decker brought Cabrini back with a traditional three-point play, followed by a steal and three-pointer to cut the Ravens' lead to two points.

An 8-0 Rosemont run extended their lead to a game-high 10 points with 13:48 before halftime.

Cabrini continued to chip away at its deficit, eventually evening the scoreboard at 25 with under one minute left in the half.  A Rosemont free throw sent the Blue and White to the locker room down 26-25.

The Blue and White took its first lead early in the second half when Decker found Sandone for a lay-up.  Rosemont responded to recapture the lead before the Cavaliers took over.

A lay-up by sophomore Annie Rivituso sent the Cavaliers on an 18-2 run to take a 45-30 lead with 11:19 on the clock.  Eight different players scored during the run and only Rivituso connected on multiple buckets.

The Ravens cut Cabrini's lead back to nine points, but The Cavaliers responded with a Renee Deas three-pointer and Michelle Petronaci lay-up to re-establish its 14 point cushion.

Cabrini sealed the win by connecting on 8-10 from the free throw line in the game's closing minutes.

Decker finished the game with 11 points, three assists, four steals and two blocked shots.  Rivituso paired nine points with five rebounds.   Sophomore MaryKate McCann and Deas added eight points each, while Deas grabbed a team-high six rebounds off the bench.

The Cavaliers shot 47.1% from the floor, their third highest single game percentage of the year.

Freshmen Ashley Montecchio and Elizabeth Coyne led the Ravens (8-11, 4-9 CSAC) with 16 points each.  Coyne recorded the double-double with 10 rebounds.

The Cavaliers will hit the road on Saturday, visiting Baltimore for a meeting with Notre Dame (Md.) University.  Tip is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
