ASTON, Pa. –
The Cabrini College women's basketball team picked the right time for its second three-game win streak of the season.  With two games remaining, the Cavaliers posted a huge 80-52 win at Neumann University on Wednesday night.

The win improves the Blue and White's record to 8-6 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) and 10-13 overall.

The Cavaliers got a balanced offensive performance with six players tallying at least eight points, led by sophomore Brittany Sandone's 15.  Fellow sophomores MaryKate McCann and Annie Rivituso added 13 points each.

Cabrini got off to a hot start, scoring the game's first 10 points in the game's opening four minutes.  By the middle of the half, the Knights chiseled the Cabrini advantage to 18-15. The Blue and White responded with a 13-2 run, extending their lead to 14 points.

By the break, Cabrini had built a 48-31 lead on the strength of 66.7% shooting from the field and a 30-12 advantage in points in the paint.

As well as the Cavaliers played in the first half, they managed to raise their game in the second.  Cabrini never allowed the Knights to get back into the game, keeping the lead north of 15 points.

The Blue and White held Neumann to 28% shooting in the second half and allowed just 21 points after the break.  Cabrini also continued to pound the ball inside, extending its points in the paint advantage to 54-18.

Freshman Megan Decker netted 10 points, while senior Jenn Casper and sophomore Colleen Stewart added eight points each for Cabrini.

The Cavaliers outrebounded the Knights 39-27, led by Rivituso and Decker's game-high nine rebounds.  Stewart also added eight boards.

Bethany Humenik led Neumann with 17 points, including 7-7 from the charity stripe, and six rebounds.

The Cavaliers will close out the home portion of their schedule on Saturday when Philadelphia Biblical University pays a visit to Nerney Field House.  Tip is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.

Saturday will be a special day for the Cavaliers as they welcome alums back for Alumni Day and celebrate Casper's career on Senior Day.  It is also Cabrini's Play 4Kay game, when the Blue and White raises money to help fight breast cancer.  All fans are encouraged to wear pink as a show of support.
