RADNOR, Pa. – The Cabrini College women's soccer team snapped its four match losing streak today, topping Rosemont College 2-1 at Edith Robb Dixon Field.  The victory improves the Cavaliers' record to 2-4-1 overall and 1-0-1 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference.

Cabrini freshman Dana Peterson opened the scoring in the fifth minute when she collected a pass from sophomore Gabby Meck and fired a shot into the back of the net.  The tally marked the first of Peterson's career.

The Blue and White carried the 1-0 lead into the halftime break after outshooting Rosemont 6-1 in the first half.

The Cavaliers turned up the intensity entering the second half but still had difficulty finding the net.  Freshman Maura O'Connell changed that in the 74th minute.

Fellow freshman Julianna Ardire found O'Connell inside the 18-yard box before O'Connell found the back of the net for her first career goal.

Trailing 2-0, the Ravens mounted a late comeback, pressing Cabrini's defense.  In the 89th minute, Rosemont finally broke through as freshman Lauren Whalen scored her 7th goal of the season.

For the game, the Cavaliers outshot Rosemont 16-8 and secured six corner kicks to Rosemont's one.

Peterson and sophomore Melissa Scanzano led the Blue and White with three shots each.

The Cavaliers will step out of CSAC action on Thursday as they travel to Swarthmore, Pa. to face the Garnet.  The action is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. at Swarthmore's Clothier Field Stadium.
