Volleyball Spikes Pacers, Extends Streak to Eight

SCRANTON, Pa. – The Cabrini College volleyball team improved to 3-0 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference and 10-4 overall with tonight's 3-0 win at Marywood University.  The victory extends the Cavaliers' current win streak to eight matches.

The Blue and White wasted little time in displaying its dominance, taking the first set 25-12.   The Cavaliers continued to exert its will on the Pacers, posting a 25-15 win in the second set.  A 25-13 win in the third set secured Cabrini's 14th consecutive regular season win over a CSAC opponent.

The Cavaliers continued to show their balance as four players recorded at least five kills or five digs.  Senior Danielle Carrozza led the Cavaliers with 10 kills, while freshman Jen Grenauer posted seven.  Junior Michele Fitx and senior Meg Ryan also combined for 11 kills.

Junior Sophia Sokolovich anchored Cabrini's defense with 18 kills on the night.  Carrozza and junior Kristy Riley added seven kills each.  Freshman Cassidy Koenig paired six digs with her 29 assists.

The Cavaliers will return to Nerney Field House on Saturday as they host Baptist Bible College.  First serve is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
